The Species Threat Abatement and Restoration (STAR) Metric

In 2021, IUCN and partners developed a new methodology and suite of tools called the Species Threat Abatement and Recovery (STAR) metric. STAR uses IUCN Red List data to estimate the potential reduction in species extinction risk that could be achieved at a site, across a corporate footprint, or within a country. It can also be used to set local or global species extinction risk targets, and measure progress towards those targets. Find out more on the Species Threat Abatement and Recovery (STAR) metric page.
