Range Description:	A small tree known from a single collection from Caldas, Colombia, and from two localities on the eastern slope of the Ecuadorian Andes.

Habitat and Ecology:	It occurs in submontane and montane forest, meadows and open hillsides. Trees sometimes survive forest clearing.
