Justification:
Angraecum mahavavense has an extent of occurrence of less than 100 km2, an area of occupancy of 9 km2 and occurs in only one location, as it is known only from the type specimen collected in 1932. This species does not occur within a protected area and furthermore, it experiences continuing decline because of annual fire, forest exploitation and illicit collection. It is therefore assessed as Critically Endangered and is Possibly Extinct. Further field research is recommended for the species.

Range Description:This species is endemic to Madagascar, where it grows in the province of Antsiranana at elevations of 500 to 999 m asl. It is known only from the type specimens from Ambohipiraka.
