Listed as Vulnerable, because its Extent of Occurrence is less than 20,000 km2 and its Area of Occupancy is less than 2,000 km2, its distribution is severely fragmented, and there is a continuing decline in the extent and quality of its forest habitat.

Range Description: This species is known only from the Tay Nguyen Plateau of south-central Viet Nam, though it might extend into southern Lao People's Democratic Republic or extreme north-eastern Cambodia. It has been recorded above 900m asl.
