Listed as Endangered because its Extent of Occurrence is less than 5,000 km2, its distribution is severely fragmented, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat in the Ecuadorian Andes.

Range Description:This species is known from five localities east and west of Cuenca, Morona-Santiago Province, Ecuador, from 2,835-3,384m asl. It is also known from the Protected Forest of Mazan, within Parque Nacional Cajas.
