Range Description: This poorly known species occurs in eastern and central Democratic Republic of Congo, at 750-1,000m asl. There do not appear to be any recent records, presumably because of lack of recent herpetological work within its range.

Habitat and Ecology: It is found in dense forest, where it is associated with stagnant pools where it presumably breeds. Its adaptability to secondary habitats is not known, though it is likely to favour undisturbed forest.

Major Threat(s): Local populations are probably being affected by forest loss as a result of agricultural encroachment, expanding human settlements, and removal of wood.
