Justification: Lithops optica is assessed as Near Threatened. The RAMAS® Red List version 2.0 software package was used to make this assessment. This species is known from at least 20 subpopulations with an extent of occurrence < 10,000 km². Area occupied by the species is suspected to be < 20 km². The population is believed to be declining as a result of collecting and habitat destruction. |
