A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador, where seven populations are known. Recorded in lower Andean forests near Tandapi, Nanegalito, Balsapamba, and the Río Putucay. Not confirmed inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but present in the La Favorita and Maquipucuna private reserves. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
