Justification:
A shrub endemic to southeastern Ecuador. Known only from the 1943 type collection in a forested area near the Río Valladolid, between the Honda and Tambo creeks. Not confirmed in any protected area, but could potentially occur inside the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
