Piper campii is endemic to southeastern Ecuador, where it is known from a single 1944 collection. Habitat destruction is the only known threat.

Range Description: Endemic to southeastern Ecuador, where it is known from a single 1944 collection near Méndez, in forests along the Río Upano, in Morona-Santiago province. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums.
