Justification: A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from more than 40 populations in the central Andes. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but could potentially occur in the Cotopaxi, Antisana, Cayambe-Coca, Llanganates, Chimborazo and Sangay protected areas. The principal threats are grazing and fires set by humans. |
