A herb or subshrub endemic to Ecuador's southern Andes. Known from three collections in the Parque Nacional Podocarpus, between the park's interpretative center and the Lagunas del Compadre. Considered Vulnerable due to its apparently tiny geographical range. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
