Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador, where it is widely distributed in the central Andes and known from nearly 50 populations. Not yet confirmed to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but probably occurs in similar habitats in the Parque Nacional Cotopaxi, Parque Nacional Sangay and Parque Nacional Llanganates and in the Reserva de Producción Faunística Chimborazo. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
