Has a very large extent of occurrence (270,754–302,844 km²) and large area of occupancy (148,404 km²). Recorded from 17 localities and comprises six to seven subpopulations. There are some threats, but these do not yet trigger a threatened status.

Range Description: Nosy-Be Island, Madagascar (NW-SE axis), where it is widespread in Madagascan rainforests. The habitat is highly fragmented.
