Justification: A terrestrial fern endemic to Ecuador. Known to occur in four locales in Loja province: at Loma de Oro, 10 km north of Saraguro; in the Hacienda Horta-Naque; at Laguna Negra, 10–12 km northeast of Amaluza; and in the paramos near the pass on the Loja-Zamora road. Not known to occur inside Ecuador's protected areas network, but probably occurs inside the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Apart from habitat destruction, no other threats are known. |
