Justification:
A shrub or treelet endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from one collection made in 1967 on the Nudo de Cajanuma, approximately 6 km south of Loja. Potentially inside the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. The principal threat is deforestation. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums.
