A second subpopulation has been found at kilometer 60.9 of the Yangana-Valladolid road, at 1,950 m elevation. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network but may be present in similar habitats of the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. The principal threat is the conversion of Andean forest to croplands. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
