Justification:
A shrub endemic to Ecuador. Apparently known only from the type, collected in 1931 in the surroundings of San Jose de Minas. This name needs critical taxonomic evaluation before its conservation status can be evaluated. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums.
