Justification: A shrub endemic to Ecuador, where it is widely distributed in the Andes but with only six reported subpopulations. Confirmed to occur in the Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca and potentially present in other Andean protected areas with similar habitats. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
