Justification:
This poorly-known species appears to be endemic to a limited area of southern Ecuador, where it is suspected to be threatened by ongoing, general deforestation activities. It is believed to persist as fragmented populations (although this requires additional research), and is considered to be Vulnerable, following the precautionary principle.
