Habitat and Ecology:Low montane shrubland and dwarf Hypericum-Cephalocroton shrubland; mainly on granite in the Haggeher, but also less commonly on limestone (Reyged). Typically above 600 m, lower altitudes are atypical. Altitude of (120–)600–1,100 m.

Closely related to H. mysorense a species from Southern India and Sri Lanka.
