Geographic Range [top]

Range Description: Central and south-east Bolivia and north-west Argentina. Unusually for the genus, it readily colonises open and disturbed areas, where it is soon supplanted by slower-growing trees. This characteristic makes it useful in the reclamation of eroded slopes.
