Justification:
This species is assessed as Data Deficient as it is currently only known from a single specimen. The specimen was collected in the Mekong at the Khone Falls in Laos, near to the border with Cambodia. No population information is available for this species. Logging, deforestation and agriculture occur in the area, with associated impacts on the aquatic environment through soil erosion, sedimentation and agricultural pollution expected, as well as possible impacts from the proposed hydropower dam adjacent to the site.
