Justification:
Laeops cypho has been assessed as Data Deficient as it is only known from its type locality.  It is not known if this species is naturally rare or if it has been severely impacted by deep-water trawling its range.  Further research on the ecology, distribution and possible threats to this species is needed before a more accurate assessment of its conservation status can be made.
