Geomys pinetis goffi was endemic to Pineda Ridge, bordering the Indian River in Brevard County, Florida. Found in habitat described as sand pine scrub, a mixture of scrub and flatwoods, and coastal dune scrub, it was a fossorial animal, spending most of its life in underground burrow systems. Diet consisted of underground vegetation (roots, bulbs, rhizomes), and occasional surface vegetation within easy reach of the burrow entrance.
