Justification: Endemic species widespread throughout Lake Tanganyika where it is found in inshore waters over rocky substrates and lower reaches of major fast flowing rivers (area of occupancy less than 2,000 km²). Threatened by fisheries pressure, water turbidity and siltation due to erosion on watershed but no data to demonstrate a population decline. |
