Habitat and Ecology [top]

Habitat and Ecology: Prefers well-aerated open flowing water but can also be collected in pools of stagnant water, usually these pools are remnant parts of rivers which are dried out in the dry season (Seegers 1996). Probably feeds on zooplankton and small insects and crustaceans (Seegers 1996). Probably migrates for spawning (Seegers 1996).
