Range Description: This species is known from Santo Domingo de los Colorados (the type locality), and from near to Mindo, in Pichincha Province in north-western Ecuador. It occurs at around 1,500m asl.

Habitat and Ecology: It is known to be associated with montane forests. The eggs are presumably laid on land, with the hatching larvae falling into streams to complete their development.
