| Population: | This species is presumed to be extinct. It has not been recorded since 1860-1862 in Victoria, where it was at one time common and even regarded as a pest. Although it was widely distributed, it was apparently not abundant (Dixon 2008). Surveys conducted over the years have not found this species. |
| Habitat and Ecology: | It was found in areas of eucalyptus woodland, where animals were recorded nesting in hollow branches. One female was known to have had a litter of three young (Dixon 2008). |
| Systems: | Terrestrial |
| Major Threat(s): | It has been suggested that the possible causes for extinction of this species were habitat disruption by introduced livestock and rabbits, and predation by cats. |
| Conservation Actions: | There are no conservation measures pertaining to this species. |
