Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to eastern Ecuador, where it is known from four scattered populations. Reported from near Taisha, at Santa Rosa on the Río Napo, north of Puerto Sarayacu, and west of Archidona. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but may be found in the Parque Nacional Sumaco-Napo-Galeras. Not collected since 1980. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
