Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to the western foothills of the Ecuadorean Andes. Known from a single population in the understory of primary and old secondary forest around Lita, between Cachaco and San Martín. Threatened by forest conversion to croplands and road widening, but collected in secondary forest and perhaps capable of vegetative reproduction. Not confirmed in any Ecuadorean protected area. May occur in Colombia.
