Justification:
A vine endemic to Ecuador, where it has been collected four times in relatively isolated areas. Two old collections are from Cerro Carihuairazo. One subpopulation has been reported inside the Parque Nacional Cotopaxi and others at the entrance of the Parque Nacional Sangay. Potentially may occur in protected areas with similar upper-Andean vegetation. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
