Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from five subpopulations, with at least 100 individuals in each, in the dry valley of the Río Mira between Imbabura and Carchi provinces. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network. The principal threats are agriculture and grazing. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
