Justification: Saimiri sciureus is wide-ranging throughout northern Amazon. Currently assessed as Least Concern.

Geographic Range

Range Description: The species has four subspecies: S. sciureus sciureus from Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana and Suriname; S. sciureus albigena from Colombia; S. sciureus cassiquiarensis from Brazil and Venezuela; and S. sciureus macrodon from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

All four subspecies are assessed as Least Concern.
