Justification: Nesolagus timminsi was discovered in the mountain forests of Laos and Viet Nam in the late 1990s. As yet there are no data on population size or extent of occurrence to assess the conservation status of this species. Further research is required.

Geographic Range

Range Description: Nesolagus timminsi was discovered in the Annamite mountains of Laos and Viet Nam in the late 1990s. The first evidence of its existence in this area came from freshly captured animals on sale in a food market in Laos between 1995 and 1996. The rabbits have since been found at other sites in Viet Nam (Surridge et al. 1999).
