Justification: Cebus apella is a wide ranging species. It is hunted but it is adaptable. Currently assessed as Least Concern.

Geographic Range

Range Description: The subspecies C. apella apella is wide-ranging in the lower Amazon and is assessed as Least Concern. However, the subspecies C. apella margaritae is restricted to the island of Margarita in Venezuela and is assessed as Critically Endangered.
