Range Description: This species is known from the high mountains, approximately 3,300-4,300 m asl, of western and southern Yunnan, and south-east Xizang in China, and northern Myanmar (Musser and Carleton 2005; Smith and Xie 2008).

Habitat and Ecology: It occurs in coniferous forests and alpine meadows (Smith and Xie 2008); it may venture out into open fields, where these occur near forest (Lunde and Aplin 2006).
