Taxonomic Notes:

Synonym = S. olivacea. Family name was Herpestidae, changed to Eupleridae following Wozencraft in Wilson and Reeder (2005).

Justification:

This area of occupancy was found to be larger than previously calculated. There is new information on the suspected decline in population, extrapolated from deforestation rates. The RAMAS® Red List software package was used to make this assessment.
