| Habitat and Ecology: | It is a poorly-known species that has only been recorded in the eastern lowland rain forests. It is possibly a a semi-fossorial species which is believed to be forest dependent. The ecology of the species is not known. |

| Major Threat(s): | It is threatened by deforestation and habitat fragmentation, through conversion to cultivated areas and general logging activities. |
| Conservation Actions: | It has been recorded from two protected areas: Ambatovaky Special Reserve and Anjanaharibe-Sud Special Reserve. It has been recorded in the future protected area of Makira. Further studies are needed into the taxonomy, distribution, population, biology, ecology and threats to this species. |
