|Red List Category & Criteria:
||IUCN SSC Antelope Specialist Group
||Mallon, D.P. (Antelope Red List Authority) & Hoffmann, M. (Global Mammal Assessment)
Listed as Endangered as numbers have declined from more than 285,000 in the 1980s to less than 70,000 today. Recent reports from southern Sudan also confirm that numbers there have declined drastically from numbers recorded in the 1980s. Based on this, a decline exceeding 50% over the past 20 years (three generations) seems easily met.
