Habitat and Ecology: At least in the northern part of the lake its depth range extends from 3 meters below the surface to 25 or 30 m. It is a popular species for the aquarium trade but is protected from over-collection in the deeper waters due to problems of decompression associated with bringing fish to the surface from depth.
