Restricted to a small area on the northern plains. It is liked by livestock and the gradual decline in the quality of habitat due to over-grazing is likely to place this plant under some threat. The coastal plains on Soqotra are the habitat most at risk from the developments proposed for the island. They signs of decline in quality of habitat is already evident, as people are moving from the interior to the coast.

Habitat and Ecology:Locally common in Croton socotranus shrubland on the north eastern coastal and inland plains. Altitude of sea-level to 120 m.
