Justification:
This species, although well known in the horticultural trade, is poorly known in the field. It was found recently in the Montagne des Francais, however, the herbarium records contain two dubious specimens located outside this zone: one sampled from a cultivated plant in the Jardin de Tsimbaza, supposedly originating from Ankarana, and the other from the Valley of the Andalangy (Bemarivo). This species is suspected to grow only in the Montagne des Francais, but more field studies tare neded o ascertain its area of occupancy and extent of occurrence.
