Justification:
The two subspecies combined have a very small extent of occurrence and area of occupancy. The typical subspecies has the larger range with the an extent of occurrence of 138.572 km² and an area of occupancy of 75.113 km². Together, the subspecies are known from less than five locations and there is continuing decline due to habitat loss and removal by collectors for the horticultural trade.
