Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from two subpopulations in the southern Andes. First collected in 1974, 11 km northeast of Girón, and subsequently collected in 1979 in Loja province. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species
