This species has an area of occupancy of 179.741 km2 and is found in 10 locations where the threat is from invasive species, hydroelectric projects and habitat conversion for agriculture. There is a continuing decline the quality and extent of habitat of this species.
|Range Description:||Found in the Taita Hills, Kenya and the Uluguru, Nguru and Udzungwa Mountains and the Mahembe and Mufindi Scarps, Tanzania. Last collected in 2007.|

|Habitat and Ecology:||A succulent herb growing to 1m. Found in rocky areas of moist woodland or forest. Also found on inselbergs and in riverine and sub-montane forest.|
There has been conversion of habitat at the Kimboza collection locality and Uluguru localities in the former for the plantation of Cedrela odorata, and in the latter for agriculture. Cedrela odorata is an invasive species and poses a threat to this species.
There is also the potential threat from hydroelectricty projects at Stiegler's Gorge, although these infrastructure projects are still in discussion.
Found in Kanga Forest Reserve, Kimboza Forest Reserve, Selous Game Reserve, Udzungwa Mountains National Park and West Kilombero Scarp Forest Reserve.
