Justification: This species is among the most frequently caught butterflyfishes for the aquarium market. Monitoring of the population trends, habitat status and harvest levels of this species is required. It lives in a range of habitat types and is not restricted to coral reefs. Apart from the aquarium trade, there are no major threats to this species and it is listed as Least Concern. |
|

| Systems: | Marine |
| Major Threat(s): | This species is collected for the aquarium trade, however, there is no data on how this affects the population. There appear to be no other major threats to this species. |
| Conservation Actions: | There are no known species-specific conservation measures in place for this species. It occurs within marine protected areas. Monitoring of the population trends, habitat status and harvest levels of this species is required. |
