| Range Description: | This species occurs in central to southern Chile and Argentina (Musser and Carleton 2005). Teta et al. (2002) give easternmost records in Río Negro and Chubut Provinces of Patagonian Argentina. |

| Habitat and Ecology: | This species is omnivorous and inhabits a range of habitats from dense forest to bushy steppe and marsh (Guthmann et al. 1997). Typically occurs in Andean forests and western Patagonia piedmont (Jayat et al. 2006). |
