Range Description:	This species is broadly distributed in east-central Madagascar, from Ambatuvaky south to Andringitra. It has been recorded at 500-1,100m asl.

Population:	It is a locally common species.
Population Trend:	Decreasing

Habitat and Ecology:	It lives in pristine rainforest, and has once been found in secondary habitats next to forest. The eggs are laid on leaves above streams, into which the larvae fall and develop.

Major Threat(s):	Its forest habitat is receding due to subsistence agriculture, timber extraction, charcoal manufacture, and invasive spread of eucalyptus, livestock grazing and expanding human settlements.
