Justification: A parasitic shrub endemic to Ecuador's northern Andes, where it is known from a single collection around Maldonado. The type locale is not in Ecuador's protected areas network, but additional populations could potentially occur inside the Reserva Ecológica Cotacachi-Cayapas. Expected in Colombia. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known. |
